Statement regarding passing of Ann Sessom

Statement
Tuesday, August 17, 2021

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) mourns the loss of Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) Supervisory Transportation Security Officer Patricia “Ann” Sessom, who died after contracting COVID-19.

Sessom is fondly remembered as being happy, energetic and a positive influence at work. She began her TSA career in June 2012 and was committed to the TSA mission. Sessom is the 20th TSA employee to pass away after contracting COVID-19, and the third IAH officer lost to the disease in the past few weeks.

TSA continues to urge that all employees get vaccinated and to follow CDC guidance, including mask requirements. We offer our heartfelt condolences to Sessom’s family, friends and coworkers.
