TSA officers screened more than 727,000 passengers at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport in 2024.
MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) expects a high volume of travelers at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) during the upcoming spring break season.
TSA security checkpoints at MHT are currently processing an average of 1,900 passengers per day. However, from April 10 to April 21, passenger traffic is projected to surge, with numbers reaching up to 2,800 on the busiest days.
MHT officials recommend arriving at the airport at least two hours prior to domestic flights. Time for traffic, parking, rental car return, airline check-in, and security screening can add up quickly.
TSA strives to get travelers through the general security screening process in less than 30 minutes and through TSA PreCheck® screening in less than 10 minutes. Ninety-nine percent of TSA PreCheck passengers nationwide waited less than five minutes to be screened. Another advantage of TSA PreCheck is Children 12 and under can accompany an enrolled parent or guardian in the TSA PreCheck lanes without restriction. Children 13-17 must have the TSA PreCheck logo on their boarding pass.
To help travelers prepare, TSA recommends the following:
- Pack Smart: Ensure your carry-on bags are organized and comply with TSA regulations. If not sure text 275-872 (“AskTSA”) or @AskTSA.
- Arrive Early: Allow plenty of time to get through security, especially during peak hours at MHT. (4:00 to 5:00 a.m. and 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.)
- Have Valid ID: Make sure you have your REAL ID or another acceptable form of identification.
- Pack Your Patience: Be prepared for busy airports and follow TSA guidelines to expedite the process.
