Both the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) are ready for record-breaking passenger volumes expected after the Super Bowl. Both MSY and the TSA will provide highlights including a behind the scenes look at innovations and coordination efforts on Wednesday, February 5th, at 11 a.m.
TSA has installed automated screening lanes (ASLs) with Computed Tomography (CT) scanners at the airport checkpoint to enhance security efficiency, and the agency will be bringing in 100 additional officers from national deployment teams to facilitate the screening. TSA has also activated dozens of K9 explosives detection teams in New Orleans from across the country.
Representatives of TSA and the airport will present highlights of preparedness efforts and staff augmentation, introduce a K9 team, and a take media on a behind the scenes visit to TSA’s nerve center/coordination center. This will happen on Wednesday, February 5th, 11 a.m.
Pease RSVP your intent to cover to Sari.Koshetz@TSA.DHS.gov for additional information and meeting location.
