Phoenix, Az - The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is recruiting individuals interested in an exciting new federal career as a Transportation Security Officer (TSO) at Arizona Airports – to include Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX), Tucson International Airport (TUS), Show Low Regional Airport (SOW) and Flagstaff Pulliam Airport (FLG).

The TSA was created in the wake of the tragic attacks of September 11, 2001, and by joining the TSA you will be on the front line of protecting the traveling public and you will become an essential employee in the mission of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. This employment opportunity also brings with it a sign on bonus of up to $1,000: $500 hiring incentive if you begin employment by September 30, 2022, and an additional $500 bonus after one year of service.

"Applicants do not need previous experience working in security or law enforcement fields,” said TSA Federal Security Director for PHX Jerry Agnew. “As a key element of the preparation for this job in national security, our officers will receive extensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and they will be paid during this training."

 The TSA at PHX, TUS, SOW* and FLG airports are in the process of hiring full- and part-time TSO positions, in preparation of the upcoming summer travel season.

TSA offers applicants federal government benefits, which include paid leave, health care plans for both full-time and part-time employees, tuition assistance, federal retirement annuity and more.

Starting pay at Arizona airports is as follows:

PHX is $17.58 per hour or approximately $36,688.00 annually with opportunities for pay increases after six months.

TUS is $17.13 per hour or approximately $35,756.00 annually with opportunities for pay increases after six months.

SOW is $35,271.00 annually with opportunities for pay increases after six months.

FLG is $18.59 per hour or approximately $38,807 annually with opportunities for pay increases after six months.

All airports, with the exception of SOW* are hiring full-time and part-time TSOs.

*SOW is hiring full-time only.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or U.S. nationals and at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) equivalent, must pass a drug screening, medical evaluation and background investigation. They must be subject to post-employment random drug and/or alcohol testing and males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for selective service. TSO applicants must be available to work various shifts and overtime, as needed and mandatory travel for training and occasional travel may be required.
