Dallas, Tx - The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is holding a joint recruiting event on February 22nd and 23rd from 9 AM to 3 PM to assist individuals interested in an exciting new federal career as a Transportation Security Officer (TSO) at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL) in Dallas, TX.

The TSA was created in the wake of the tragic attacks of September 11, 2001, and by joining the TSA you will be on the front line of protecting the traveling public and you will become an essential employee in the mission of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Previous law enforcement experience is not required for applicants interested in these positions. “This event is to assist candidates through our hiring process to get them into our ready pool of new hires and help them navigate the federal hiring process,” said DFW Airport TSA Federal Security Director Kriste Jordan Smith. “New officers will receive extensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and they will be paid during this training."

Attendees at the recruiting event will receive information about full- and part-time TSO positions and have the opportunity to complete multiple steps of the hiring process. The event includes a presentation about the TSO role, application assistance, computer-based testing and in-person interviews for job seekers. Participants will be able to complete all or part of these processes which will significantly reduce the time required to get on board with TSA.

According to Amy Williams, DAL Airport TSA Federal Security Director, “If you’re looking to build a rewarding career and serve your country, you’ve come to the right place. TSA offers opportunities for a wide range of candidates – whether you’re an experienced business professional, recent college or high school graduate or transitioning military personnel”.

As part of the presentation sessions during the event, TSA will provide an overview of working for the federal government and discuss benefits, which include paid leave, health care plans for both full- and part-time employees, 401k coverage and more.

Starting pay at AUS is $17.47 per hour with opportunities for 5% pay increase ($1,300) upon certification as a transportation security officer and after six months $4,500 annual increase. TSA is offering a sign-on bonus of up to $1,000 for eligible new hires in the area – $500 after onboarding and an additional $500 after one year of service, with service agreement.

The event will take place at The Renaissance Dallas North Hotel, 1590 Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway, Dallas, TX, 75234.

Participating in the information session and preliminary hiring process components can take between three and four hours, so TSA recommends arriving early in the day. Candidates are required to have two valid forms of state or federal identification, and masks are required.

TSA seeks those who want to take the initial step into a rewarding federal career and support TSA’s critical mission of protecting our nation’s transportation systems. For more information on the TSO position and to learn more about TSA career go to https://jobs.tsa.gov for full time positions.
