BILLINGS, Mont. – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) today announced that there are two permanent TSA Pre✓® enrollment sites in Montana. The centers are located in Billings and Missoula.

The Billings location had recently reduced its capacity for enrollments, but is now open full-time Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. It is located at 1302 Avenue D, Suite 103.

The enrollment center in Missoula is open three days a week. On Wednesdays, it is open from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; on Fridays, it is open from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; and on Saturdays, it is open 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It is located at 310 S. Curtis Street.

The ability to enroll in TSA Pre✓® at these two permanent locations is a convenience for Montana residents. When traveling, TSA Pre✓® allows passengers to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt when going through the security checkpoints at airports nationwide. In addition, TSA Pre✓®-eligible travelers can leave their laptops, electronics larger than a cell phone and travel-size liquids in their carry-on luggage at most airports.

“For Montanans who travel by air even a few times a year, TSA Pre✓® is a game changer. It provides the simplest and most streamlined experience at the TSA security checkpoint,” said TSA Federal Security Director Dan Fevold. “With TSA Pre✓® enrollment available in Billings and Missoula as well as temporary enrollment opportunities in Bozeman and Great Falls over the next few weeks, now is the time to act. Become a TSA Pre✓® traveler now before the busy spring and summer travel season begins.”

TSA Pre✓® enrollment is currently being offered on a temporary basis at Bozeman-Yellowstone International Airport weekdays through Friday, February 7. The center is located on the second floor of the airport. The hours are 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

At Great Falls International Airport, a temporary enrollment center will be open daily starting Monday, February 10 through Friday, February 14 from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. It will be located in the airport security office on the second floor next to the Grizzly Bear.

An in-person visit to an enrollment center is required to complete the TSA Pre✓® enrollment process. Applicants must bring a current U.S. passport or a driver license and a certified copy of a birth certificate. Fingerprints will be collected during enrollment.

While walk-ins are accepted, people are strongly encouraged to begin the enrollment process online and make an appointment for the in-person visit. Start by visiting www.tsa.gov/precheck and select “Apply Now.” Follow the online prompts, enter the requested information and select the location most convenient to you.

The enrollment fee is $85, which covers a five-year period. The fee must be paid at the time of enrollment by credit card, money order, company check, or certified/cashier’s check.

To date, more than 10 million travelers have enrolled in TSA Pre✓®. In 2019, on average, 93% of travelers eligible for TSA Pre✓® have waited five minutes or less to be screened through security checkpoints at airports nationwide. Another benefit of the program is that children 12 and under are permitted to use the TSA Pre✓® lane when traveling with an eligible parent or guardian on the same itinerary.

Seventy-three airlines, including domestic and international carriers, participate in TSA Pre✓®, giving travelers even more options and reasons to enroll in the program. All airlines serving Montana’s airports participate in TSA Pre✓®.
