ROMULUS, Mich.– The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Federal Air Marshal Service (FAMS) is hosting an expedited hiring event on Tuesday, Nov. 7 and Wednesday, Nov. 8 to fill entry-level Federal Air Marshal positions nationwide, including the Detroit and Chicago regions.
The event will be held at the Sheraton Detroit Metro Airport, 8000 Merriman Rd, Romulus, MI 48174 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday. Interested applicants will have the opportunity to learn more about the FAMS career paths, submit an online application, complete the FAMS hiring assessment, participate in a structured panel interview, one-on-one interview, and schedule a field office assessment.
The Federal Air Marshal Service is the only federal law enforcement organization dedicated to safeguarding the nation’s transportation systems.
Applicants should bring the following documentation to the event: resume, two forms of government issued identification, college transcripts (if applicable), and DD-214 or SF-50 forms if they are prior military or were employed with the federal government. Applicants must be a U.S. or naturalized citizen between the age of 21 and 36, possess a valid driver’s license, have a minimum of three years of work experience, and have a bachelor’s degree or higher. A combination of education and experience is considered. Veterans may receive a waiver allowing for employment prior to their 40th birthday. Applicants must pass a pre-employment background check, polygraph, medical evaluation and a physical fitness assessment.
The starting annual salary range for entry-level Federal Air Marshals is $59,319-$77,112, plus locality pay. Locality pay for the Detroit region is 28.37%.
