TSA to hire Full and Part time security screening officers for Burlington International Airport

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is holding a recruiting event Monday, March 20 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event is designed to assist individuals interested in applying for a job as a Transportation Security Officer (TSO) at Burlington International Airport (BTV).

Starting pay at BTV today is currently $17.92 per hour; after two years on the job, pay increases to $27.79 per hour. TSA is also offering a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 for BTV, $2,500 after onboarding and an additional $2,500 after one year of service.

Attendees will receive information about full- and part-time TSO positions and have the opportunity to complete multiple steps of the hiring process. The event includes an information session about the TSO role, application assistance, and scheduling of the computer based test.

As part of the information session, TSA will provide an overview of working for the federal government and discuss benefits, which include paid leave, health care plans for full- and part-time employees, 401k coverage and more.

The event takes place at the Fletcher Free Library, 235 College St. in Burlington.
