DENVER - The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is hiring Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) to work at Denver International Airport (DEN). There are 135 full- and 15 part-time positions currently available at DEN. Starting salary is $18.10 per hour.

As an incentive, TSA will pay newly-hired TSOs at DEN $500 upon starting with the agency and $500 after one year of service with TSA. To qualify for the recruitment incentive, the employee must come onboard with TSA between now and June 30, 2021.

“TSA has immediate openings locally for those who want to join our dynamic team of security professionals, all of whom play a major role in securing the nation’s transportation system,” said Colorado Federal Security Director Lawrence Nau. “We will be hosting a two-day, in-person recruitment and hiring session where those who are interested in working for TSA can learn more about the duties of a TSO, complete the federal application process and take the first steps to being hired. There is no better time to jumpstart your career. Come see what TSA has to offer!”

The two-day recruitment event is taking place Monday, March 29 and Tuesday, March 30 in the ballroom at the Crowne Plaza Denver Airport, 1550 E. 40th Avenue in Denver. The hours on Monday are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Tuesday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. No appointment is necessary. The hotel is conveniently located near the 38th & Blake rail station. On-site parking is also available at no cost.

Based on anticipated seasonal travel trends in the months ahead and the progress of COVID-19 vaccinations for the general public, TSA has launched national efforts to recruit new employees in support of screening operations at airports nationwide. In addition to targeted recruitment and outreach, TSA has supplemented its efforts with paid media campaigns in the Denver area to reach individuals seeking part-time and full-time job opportunities.

TSOs at DEN are federal employees. Benefits include paid training, annual and sick leave, health care plans for full- and part-time employees and a generous retirement plan. TSA does not prorate benefits for part-time workers, and veteran’s preference is not required to join the agency.

After six months, TSOs are eligible for pay increases and those who work early mornings, evenings and Sundays receive a shift differential. Overtime opportunities, which are paid at time and a half, are frequently available.

TSA is committed to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment and encourages individuals of all backgrounds to apply.
