IDAHO FALLS, Idaho - The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) reminded local residents that they can come to Idaho Falls Regional Airport next week to enroll in TSA Pre✓® when the airport hosts a TSA Pre✓® enrollment center for five days only.

TSA Pre✓® enrollment will be offered Monday, Sept. 16 through Friday, Sept. 20. The enrollment center will be located in airport terminal near the police office. The airport is located at 2140 N. Skyline Drive in Idaho Falls.

At airports across the country, travelers eligible for TSA Pre✓® screening can leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt when going through the security checkpoint. In dedicated TSA Pre✓® lanes, travelers can also leave their laptops, electronics larger than a cell phone and travel-size liquids in their carry-on luggage during the security checkpoint screening process.

An in-person visit to the enrollment center is required to complete the application process. Applicants must bring a current U.S. passport or a driver license and a certified copy of a birth certificate. Fingerprints will be collected during enrollment.

While walk-ins are accepted, people are strongly encouraged to begin the enrollment process online and make an appointment for the in-person visit. Start by visiting www.tsa.gov/precheck and select “Apply Now.” Follow the online prompts, enter the requested information and select “Idaho Falls Regional Airport” as the enrollment location. Hours vary by day and are posted on the online appointment website.

Currently, appointments are available every day next week except Monday, Sept. 16. The greatest availability is on Wednesday, Sept. 18 and Thursday, Sept. 19.

The enrollment fee is $85, which covers a five-year period. The fee must be paid at the time of enrollment by credit card, money order, company check, or certified/cashier’s check.

To date, more than 9 million travelers have enrolled in TSA Pre✓®. In recent months, on average, 93% of travelers eligible for TSA Pre✓® have waited five minutes or less to be screened through security checkpoints. Another benefit of the program is that children 12 and under are permitted to use the TSA Pre✓® lane when traveling with an eligible parent or guardian on the same itinerary.

Seventy-three airlines, including domestic and international carriers, participate in TSA Pre✓®, giving travelers even more options and reasons to enroll in the program. All airlines serving Idaho Falls Regional Airport participate in TSA Pre✓®.
