SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Travelers and residents of the Sioux Empire will have the opportunity to enroll in TSA Pre✓® at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport for five days starting Monday, June 10, 2019.
Hosted by the airport, the TSA Pre✓® enrollment center be located in the main floor conference room. Enrollment will be offered Monday, June 10 through Friday, June 14. The hours are 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sioux Falls Regional Airport is located at 2801 N. Jaycee Lane.
TSA Pre✓® allows travelers to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt, keep their laptop in its case and travel-size liquids and gels in their carry-on bag during the security checkpoint screening process. Travelers who want to enjoy the benefits of TSA Pre✓® on a consistent basis are encouraged to enroll in the program.
“Previous mobile enrollment events at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport have been a huge success. In partnership with the Airport Authority, TSA saw approximately 600 people take advantage of this quick and easy ‘pop-up’ event and enroll in TSA Pre✓®. TSA recently announced that summer 2019 is projected to be the busiest summer on record with a 4% year-over-year increase in the number of departing passengers between Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, making this an ideal time to enroll as a Trusted Traveler.
Recent statistics show that 92% of TSA Pre✓®-eligible passengers waited less than five minutes to be screened through security checkpoints nationwide. Another benefit of the program is that children 12 and under are permitted to use the TSA Pre✓® lane when traveling with an eligible parent or guardian.
Interested individuals should make an appointment now by going online to www.tsa.gov/precheck. Click on the words “Start Application Now” to begin the enrollment process. Select “Sioux Falls Regional Airport” as the enrollment center location. Currently, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of next week have the greatest number of appointments available.
An in-person visit to the enrollment center is required to complete the application process. Applicants must bring a current U.S. passport or a driver license and certified copy of a birth certificate. Fingerprints will be collected during the enrollment session. Please keep in mind, names must match on all identity documents provided.
The application fee is $85 and Trusted Traveler status is good for five years. It can be paid at the time of your appointment by credit card, money order, company check, or certified/cashier’s check. Cash and personal checks are not accepted. Walk-ins are permitted and will be accommodated around scheduled appointments.
Sixty-seven airlines, including domestic and international carriers, participate in TSA Pre✓®, giving travelers even more options and reasons to enroll in the program. Allegiant Air, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines and United Airlines, all of which serve Sioux Falls Regional Airport, participate in TSA Pre✓®.
As always, TSA continues to incorporate random and unpredictable security measures both seen and unseen throughout the airport. All travelers will be screened, and no individual will be guaranteed expedited screening.
