Denver, Colo. – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at Denver International Airport (DEN) is hosting a “fast track” hiring event this weekend to recruit full-time and part-time transportation security officers. The starting wage is $20.82 per hour, with opportunities for pay increases after six months.

The event will be held Saturday, May 4 at the TSA Administrative Offices at 3855 Lewiston St. in Aurora. Information sessions start at 8 a.m., 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. The entire process can take three to five hours, so applicants are encouraged to arrive early in the day.

“This is a great opportunity to learn more about the critical role TSA transportation security officers play at our nation’s airports and to get started on a rewarding career path,” said Colorado TSA Federal Security Director Larry Nau. “We encourage those who are interested in working on the front lines of transportation security in the federal government to come out this Saturday, including high school graduates and veterans.”

Applicants must be 18 years or older; a U.S. citizen or national; and have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent certificate. To begin the application process, visit the HR Access website or call (877) 872-7990.  Federal government benefits include annual vacation and sick leave, health care plans for full-time and part-time employees and a generous retirement plan.

At this hiring event, applicants may be eligible to take a computer-based aptitude test and participate in a structured interview. At a later date, applicants will also undergo a pre-hire background investigation, medical exam, and drug test.
