TSA at CMH to host recruitment and hiring event ahead of the summer peak travel season

COLUMBUS, OH – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is holding a one-day recruitment and hiring event Saturday, Jan. 26. The event will provide interested individuals the opportunity to begin the application and hiring process to become part-time Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) at John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH). TSA is looking to hire more than 40 officers for the peak summer travel period. 

The event will take place at the Embassy Suites Hotel (Columbus-Dublin) at 5100 Upper Metro Place, Dublin, OH 43017, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Note that the information session and initial hiring steps can take between three and five hours. Candidates are encouraged to arrive early and are required to bring two valid forms of state or federal identification. Vehicle parking is available for free. Once in the building, signs will direct candidates to the location of the recruitment and hiring event.

TSA officials will discuss the duties of a transportation security officer and the application process. They also will provide an overview of working for the federal government and discuss benefits, which include paid leave, health care plans and retirement plan. Starting pay is $18.53 per hour, which includes a 15 percent retention bonus. After the information session, interested individuals will be able to participate in a structured interview to assess qualifications, take a computer-based aptitude test, and schedule a drug screening and medical exam. Note, the application process can take several weeks in order to complete medical and background checks.
