Agency looking to fill dozens of positions at Nashville International Airport

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is holding a Fast Track hiring event this week to recruit full-time and part-time transportation security officers to work at Nashville International Airport (BNA).

The event will be held Saturday, January 12, at the Sheraton Music City Hotel, 777 McGavock Pike, in Nashville. The sessions are two to four hours, beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m. at the top of each hour. Applicants should arrive 15 mins. prior to the start of the session and bring two valid forms of state or federal identification.

“This is a unique opportunity to learn how to be on the front lines of aviation security,” said Wesley Henderson, TSA assistant federal security director for the airport. “This event helps to speed up the hiring process for qualified individuals who are interested in joining our team in Nashville in advance of the busy spring and summer travel seasons.”

During each session, TSA officials will discuss the duties of a transportation security officer and the application process. They also will provide an overview of working for the federal government and discuss benefits, which include paid leave, health care plans for full-time and part-time employees and 401k coverage. Starting pay is $15.63 per hour.

After the information sessions, those who are interested in moving forward will be able to participate in a structured interview to assess qualifications, take a computer-based aptitude test, and schedule a drug screening and medical exam. Applicants can apply for the positions on-site, but are encouraged to apply early online for a full time position or part-time position. Interested individuals may also call 877-872-7990 for any questions.
