BOSTON– The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is holding a one-day, “fast track” hiring event on Saturday, December 1st, to recruit full- and part-time TSA officers to work at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). TSA is looking to hire more than 50 full-time and part-time TSOs to work at the airport. The goal is to have many of the new employees onboard ahead of the busy holiday travel season.
Starting pay is $19 per hour, with opportunities for pay increases after six months.
This event enables individuals to participate in an accelerated hiring process by first attending an information session and then completing multiple steps in just one day.
Information sessions on Saturday are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. running every 30 minutes at the Embassy Suites Hotel-Boston Logan Airport, 207 Porter Street, Boston, MA 02128. Information sessions, plus the preliminary hiring process, can take between three and five hours, so TSA recommends arriving early in the day.
Public Transportation is available and recommended. MBTA Blue Line Airport Station is near the event location. When you arrive at the station, you will take the airport Blue shuttle #22 or #33 to the Rental Car facility and walk to the hotel or take a several minute walk across the nearby park area to the hotel. Uniformed officers will be on hand to assist with directions. If you are driving, valet parking is available at the hotel for $15 (for the full day). Parking will not be validated or reimbursed. The hotel does not have a self-parking lot for public use.
During the hiring event, TSA officials will discuss the duties of a TSA officer and the application process. They also will provide an overview of working for the federal government and discuss benefits, which include paid leave, health care plans for full- and part-time employees and 401k coverage.
After the information sessions, those who are interested in pursuing employment with TSA may be asked to take a computer-based aptitude test, participate in a structured interview and leave with a medical kit for drug screening. Applicants also will undergo a medical exam, which will be scheduled at a later date. Applicants can apply for the positions on-site, and are encouraged to apply early.
Candidates must be 18 years or older, have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent security experience, and be a US citizen or national. Applicants are required to have two valid forms of state or federal identification.
