NANTUCKET, Mass. – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is holding a one-day recruitment and hiring event Saturday, November 3, to recruit full- and part-time Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) to work at Nantucket Memorial Airport (ACK).
Interested individuals are invited to begin the application and hiring process by coming to Cyrus Peirce Middle School, 10 Surfside Road in Nantucket, Mass., between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Note that the information session and preliminary hiring process can take between three and five hours.
TSA recommends arriving early in the day. Candidates are encouraged to bring a snack and beverage and required to have two valid forms of state or federal identification.
Vehicle parking is available in the school parking lot. Once in the building, signs will direct candidates to the location of the recruitment and hiring event.
TSA is looking to hire several TSOs to work in airport security operations. During the hiring event, TSA officials will discuss the duties of a TSO and the application process.
They also will provide an overview of working for the federal government and discuss benefits, which include paid leave, health care plans for full- and part-time employees and 401k coverage. Starting pay is $21.10 per hour.
After the information sessions, those who are interested in pursuing employment with TSA may be asked to take a computer-based aptitude test, participate in a structured interview and leave with a medical kit for drug screening. Applicants will also undergo a medical exam, which will be scheduled at a later date. Applicants can apply for the positions on-site, but are encouraged to apply early.
