Local Press Release
Tuesday, October 30, 2018

Mosinee, Wis. – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) today announced that a temporary TSA Pre✓® Application Center will be open at Central Wisconsin Regional Airport (CWA) from Monday, Nov. 5 through Friday, November 9.

The TSA Pre✓® Application Center will be located near the airline ticket counter. The hours are Monday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Thursday through Friday from 7 a.m. to noon and 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

TSA Pre✓® is an expedited screening program that enables members to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt in designated screening lanes. Passengers also can keep their laptop in its case and their 3-1-1 compliant liquids/gels bag in a carry-on. A TSA Pre✓® lane at CWA has been operational since March 2015.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to make an appointment and pre-enroll. Walk-ins also will be accepted on a space-available basis.  After pre-enrolling, travelers must visit an application center like the one at CWA to provide fingerprints and proof of citizenship or legal residency using valid required identity and citizenship/immigration documentation. They also will pay the $85 fee, which covers a five-year membership. Approved members will receive a Known Traveler Number that can be accessed online in about a week.

Fifty-three airlines participate in TSA Pre✓® and travelers departing a U.S. airport flying on any of those airlines are eligible for expedited screening. As always, TSA continues to incorporate random and unpredictable security measures both seen and unseen throughout the airport. All travelers will be screened, and no individual will be guaranteed expedited screening.
