Happy Halloween

“It’s the most wonderful time of the…” wait, we are too early for that holiday! Halloween first.  If you’re traveling for Halloween here are some tips you’ll want to know.

Candy… Oh the Candy!

Not only can your candy be packed in both your carry-on and checked bags, there is no limit to the amount you can have. So go ahead and bring extra for yourself or your new travel friends!

Replica Weapons.

Replica knives, machetes, swords and scythes must be placed in checked bags. If you aren’t checking a bag, then you’ll want to ship these items to your destination. Carrying such an item could cause delays at a checkpoint for you and your fellow travelers. Not sure if your item can even go in checked bags? Looking your item up in our “What Can I Bring?” tool can help you know before you go.

Costumes and masks?

Unfortunately, the only masks we encourage you to wear are ones that protect you from this pandemic. Wearing costumes is also generally discouraged as they can result in alarms that must be resolved and longer wait times for you. But, feel free to change into them after security and wear it the rest of your flight…though you may want to check with your airline first!

Horror Movies.

Enjoy torturing your family and friends by making them watch your favorite Halloween film? They may not be happy about it but have no fear. None of our security screening will affect film that has already been possessed…whoops we mean processed.

Has an eerie fog just rolled in? Check delay information and current weather conditions at your favorite airports nationwide by downloading The MyTSA app. You can also use the “What Can I Bring?” tool to know if an item can be packed in your carry-on or checked bag before arriving at the airport.
