Albany International Airport (ALB) – Albany County, New York
At the Albany [International] Airport this morning, my family and I arrived at security and were asked whether we wanted someone to assist me through security.
I am blind and use a white cane, and this was not the first instance of TSA taking the lead on ensuring a smooth experience.
This morning, TSA Officer [Mason] Turner provided experience, support and good humor throughout the entire process, addressing not only my needs, but also those of my family.
Thanks so much to him and to the crew at the airport.
John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) – Queens, New York
Please recognize Lead TSA Officer Joe Mercado whose kind and compassionate demeanor reassured me immediately upon meeting him.
I arrived at JFK Airport for a return flight home having lost my picture ID somewhere during my trip. Officer Mercado looked at what I had and then followed me through regular security as I went through the process for those without sufficient ID. I didn’t mind the extra steps one bit because Officer Mercado was nearby and very reassuring.
I hope you have a way to recognize him, as he is the kind of officer who makes the difficulties of travel as pleasant as possible. My high level of anxiety about getting home as planned completely dissipated after meeting and working with Officer Mercado.
He is top notch, first class and a mighty fine representative for TSA.
